15 PC LOT CANADIAN TOKENS 1823-1857 CENT HALF CENT SOUS HALF SOUS G-VF.First is a very scarce agriculture and commerce half penny token un sous from Banque du Peuple from Bas Canada. Br715, H & W 130. It was struck in 1837 and there were 84,000 minted in Belleville, New Jersey in 1837. This one is worth a little money. I am not good at Canadian grading, but I would call this fine or very fine.
Next is a Quebec bank token half penny from 1852. It is Breton number 529. Un sous from the province of Canada. It probably has very good details and some environmental effects.
Next is an 1844 1/2 penny bank token from the province of Canada bank of Montreal. It is Breton 5 2 7. I would call it a fine with a small environmental effect.
Next is a province of upper Canada, half penny token from 1832. Has someone similar to Cesar facing left with what looks like perhaps Britannia facing left on the other side. I would call this very good.
Next is a 1852 Quebec bank token un sous. It is Britain 529, H&W 214. Minted at Heaton but no mint mark.
Next is the fisheries and agriculture, half penny token . couldn’t find much about this, but I would say it’s a fine with some environmental effects.
Next is a province of Nova Scotia half penny token from 1840. I believe it might be the medium 0 variety. It is a thistle token. Breton 874. Very good to fine.
Next is an upper Canada, half penny token from 1820. It says commercial change on one side with an anvil and shovels, and a schooner on the other side. I learned this is called a schooner token, and was minted later, but backdated to avoid minting laws passed in 1825. Probably fine details with a small hole at the top.
Next is Bank of upper Canada, half cent token from the Heaton meant no mint mark from 1852. It is Breton number 720 I would grade it fine to very fine.
Next is 1864 Nova Scotia one cent with Victoria on the front. I would call it very good to fine.
Next is an 1861, New Brunswick, one cent with Victoria on the front that I would rate very good.
Next up 1871 Prince Edward Island, one cent with Victoria on the front, coin orientation. I would grade it fine.
Next is 1852 Quebec bank token, deux sous one penny. It is Breton 529. I would call it fine to very fine.
Up Next is 1857 bank of upper Canada, one penny bank token. It is Breton 720 from the Heaton mint. It is fine to very fine with a very small hole at the top.
And last, but not least, is an 1852 bank of upper Canada, one penny token Breton number 719 from the Heaton mint with no mint mark. I would call this fine to very fine.
I am selling off my Canadian collection today. I have this lot of tokens, as well as cents, five cents, 10 cents, 25 cents, and 50 cents from Victoria’s reign to Elizabeth’s. Please take a look. I have been a coin collector for 50 years, on eBay for 23 years, but only a few years collecting Canadian so I only have a basic knowledge of it. I try to be as honest as I can while grading, using Haxbys books to grade by. I also tried to give details of the coins. I certainly am no expert grader.
As I said, I have been on eBay for 23 years. I have over 1800 positive feedback’s and zero bad ones. That’s because I try very hard to be honest and not give you any surprises, unless they’re good ones. I believe eBay people are honest. I combine shipping to save you money.
