    Description

Hutschenreuther Gilman Collamore Reticulated Gold Medallion Plate C. 1880 - 1890
Very pretty rare antique reticulated porcelain plate. Nicely decorated with a fancy gold gilt floral medallion in the center. With gold gilt highlighting around the reticulated edge and a fancy gold gilt scrollwork border. Marked on the reverse in black Gilman Collamore & Co Union Square New York. This is an importer's mark rather than a maker's mark. Gilman Collamore was the brother of Davis Collamore and Gilman Collamore & Co opened at 731 Broadway in 1861. They later occupied a store in Union Square until 1890. It is also marked in gold with the pattern number. I can not make out the entire pattern number, but it begins with 4181 & is over a two digit number that appears to be either 74 or 94. This reticulated form was popular in German porcelain and the pattern number is a German pattern number. This was probably made between 1880 and 1890. The plate is also identical to other plates I have seen that have a 1893 to 1923 C. M. Hutschenreuther mark.
Has quite a bit of wear to the gilding, especially around the reticulated edge and to a thin band of gold around the center of the plate, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. It is still a very pretty plate.
Measures approximately 7 7/8 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
