Description
We have here a piece of maritime history. This lifeboat actually saved lives. The ship, Poinciana MV was a Dutch freighter Built-in 1961 that capsized and sank in the Miami River in 1982. That is when this lifeboat saved lives. The story gets more interesting from there. In 1987 the ship was renamed the Jim Atria as a local developer, along with Broward County, purchased the disabled ship to use as an artificial reef. The ship was raised from the bottom of the river and was sunk again less than a mile and a 1/2 off shore on the ocean side of the third reef. This is now a very popular dive spot in Florida. Please Google the history for much more. There is also a Facebook page. This aluminum lifeboat is approximately 14' long and 69" wide. This is for local pick up at our Bargain Hunterz resale warehouse in Flint, MI 48507. You will have to arrange and pay for your own shipping if you do not want to pick it up locally. We do have a loading dock and we can assist at this end. Please note that this is something that you do not come across every day.
