NOTE: These ARE NOT cutting taps. These are thread forming taps. They have a continuous thread like a screw, but three lobes and a tapered tip like some sheet metal screws to form the thread by displacing rather than cutting the material. They require a larger tap drill size than a cutting thread. In my own use a 9/64" bit worked well in 0.060" steel, but slightly larger (around size 24-26 drill bit) is the textbook size for different thread engagement percentages. I would recommend one of those larger sizes if working with solid material rather than thin sheet metal, where the excess can deform to either side of the sheet.
